Chuck Taylor All-Stars or Converse All Stars (also referred to as “Converse“, “Chuck Taylors“, “Chucks“, “Cons“, and “All Stars“) is the brand name for a pair of casual shoes developed and produced by Converse, which has been a subsidiary of Nike, Inc. since 2003.
It’s versatility is beyond imagination especially considering the design hasn’t really varied over the years. The Converse All Stars is made of various materials including leather but the cotton canvas happens to be the most widely known version of the shoe.
The ‘Chucks’ usually consist of a stitched upper portion, a white rubber toe cap and a brown rubber sole. It is also available in low and high cuts.
In 2003, Nike bought the Converse brand name for around $305 million.
