8 Nigerian Artistes signed with SONY

We can’t deny the fact that even with the economic recession in Nigeria; the music industry happens to remain unaffected. Its also amazing how far our Nigerian artistes are going. How many of them did you know has a Sony Deal?

  1. Nneka

Born Nneka Lucia Egbuna, is a Nigerian hip hop/soul/reggae singer, songwriter and actress. She sings in both English and Nigerian Pidgin. She happens to be the first Nigerian (based in Germany) to be signed by Sony including her various accomplishments. Read more about her here

2. D’banj

Oladapo Daniel Oyebanjo, known by his stage name D’banj, is a Nigerian singer-songwriter, musician, entrepreneur and TV host. Is also signed under Sony entertainment.

3. Tiwa Savage

Tiwatope Savage-Balogun (born 5 February 1980), better known by her stage name Tiwa Savage, is a Nigerian singer, songwriter, performer and actress. She is currently signed to Sony/ATV Music Publishing as a songwriter.

4. Wizkid

Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun (born 16 July 1990), better known by his stage name Wizkid, is a Nigerian recording artist, songwriter and performer.

5. Davido

David Adedeji Adeleke (born November 21, 1992), better known by his stage name Davido, is an American-born Nigerian recording artist, performer and record producer. He announced that he signed a record deal with Sony BMG in January 2016 via Twitter.

6. Ayo Jay

Ayoola Ogundeyi Jr., better known as Ayo Jay, was born 9 August 1989 and he is a United States based Nigerian singer and songwriter. He currently has a record deal with One Nation and RCA. He signed the deal with RCA in 2016 (RCA Records is an American major record label owned by Sony Music Entertainment (SME). The company’s name is derived from the initials of the label’s former parent company, Radio Corporation of America (RCA).

7.  Ycee

Oludemilade Martin Alejo (born January 29, 1993), popularly known by his stage name YCEE, is a Nigerian rapper and songwriter currently signed to Tinny Entertainment. He made it to the list of Nigerian artistes signed with Sony Music West Africa along side Tinny Entertainment.

 

8. Tekno

Augustine Miles Kelechi (born December 17, 1992) popularly known by his stage name Tekno Miles or Tekno, is a Nigerian singer-songwriter, producer, performer and dancer. He is a descent of Ebonyi state.
