When Calamity is a Blessing- Part 3

Good morning people! And a Happy Sunday. Hope you would be going to church today? Or you already went to church? I’m glad you’re here though and it’s the third part of ‘When Calamity is a Blessing’

Let’s have a quick recap from last Sunday; we learnt to trust in God and continue to love Him. We also learnt that God is so wonderful (irrespective of where Joseph found himself he was still favoured). We learnt that we should always try to do the right thing and we should stand by the word of God. So today, we would be highlighting just two crucial points as we would be rounding up next week.

   Remain calm with God

So Joseph interpreted the dreams of the chief butler and chief baker as we saw last Sunday. Then he told the chief butler not to forget him when he’s restored, but you know what? He did forget Joseph until it was God’s time (when Pharaoh had a dream and all the wise men and magicians couldn’t interpret it). Perhaps if we were Joseph, we’ll wake up every morning in that cell and wouldn’t forget to curse the one we helped and reminded to help us. Yes,I’ve actually experienced it. It hurts so bad when we help someone and they don’t remember us. Imagine you helped your friend cross a pit by throwing him over then told him to get a stick to assist you make it across and he just left you there. How would you feel? But even with this Joseph remained calm.

     Give God His glory

Another striking fact was that before Joseph interprets any dream he always mentioned that the interpretation of dreams comes from God only. It might have been a talent given to him by God but he never took God’s glory. We should endeavor to give God His glory always, He doesn’t joke with it.

So far are you convinced that calamity could be a blessing? Thank you once again for visiting and reading this far, God bless you. Hope you learnt something cause I did. I realized I had been
making a mistake for a while now and I need to change that mindset. Share your story with us below as we learn from each other, drop your comments and also share with your friends. Have an amazing week and don’t forget the ALL-FEATURE WEEK kicks off tomorrow. Stay tuned!

  1. Exactly! We shouldn’t take all the glory, we should remember that it’s God who giveth. We should also remember that the patient dog eats the fatest bone. God does his things at his own time. Beautiful piece ONB
